Job description

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission seeks to hire a Supervising Gaming Agent assigned to the Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, MA. Under the direction of the Casino Regulatory Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the coaching, mentoring, training, and job development of Gaming Agent I and Gaming Agent II. This position has first line oversight into the daily activities of Gaming Agents I and Gaming Agents II reviewing reports, inspections, and reviews for completeness.
Position Shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 6pm to 4am.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
โ€ข Support the Casino Regulatory Manager (CRM) and Assistant Casino Regulatory Manager (ACRM) at the property with the creation of policies, procedures, and regulations and oversee the monitoring of casino and hotel activities, with an emphasis on revenue and gaming operations.
โ€ข Collaborate with the Casino Regulatory Manager, Assistant Casino Regulatory Manager, and fellow Supervisors to prepare and offer education and training to Gaming Agents I & II
โ€ข Review and assist in resolving disputes from the public, licensees, and other gaming officials.
โ€ข Identify deficiencies in the casino's internal controls. Provide input into the review of gaming floor and back of house change requests and new gaming layouts ensuring compliance.
โ€ข Maintain a foundational knowledge of casino gaming regulations and rules of the games.
โ€ข Participate in frequent check-ins with the Casino Regulatory Manager and Assistant Casino Regulatory Manager to identify, investigate, an d report insight of compliance issues, include suggestions for corrective action, if needed.
โ€ข Assist the Casino Regulatory Manage r and Assistant Casino Regulatory Manager in t he evaluation process for Gaming Agent I and Gaming Agent II.
Qualifications:
Skills and Qualifications:
โ€ข Demonstrated expertise of gaming equipment, rules of the games, count room operations, casino gaming regulations, and internal controls, casino surveillance and security operations
โ€ข Working knowledge and familiarity with or exposure to criminal and/or regulatory investigative techniques, principles, and procedures
โ€ข Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
โ€ข Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
โ€ข Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience, Education, and Training:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of eight years working in an office or casino environment, with a minimum of four years of experience in a casino or casino regulatory agency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree is preferred

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for the implementation of the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011) and regulatory oversight of G.L. chapter 23K (casino gaming), chapter 23N (sports wagering), and chapter 128A (horse racing). Under these laws, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor only license, the provision of in-person and digital sports wagering, and the live and simulcasting of horse racing in Massachusetts.
