Position Summary:

This position is responsible for reviewing the daily work of the Accounting representatives - Non-Gaming to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with casino rules and regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

  • Reviews, forecasts and reports related Non-Gaming revenue and expenses
  • Creates journal entries, as needed
  • Assists with the supervision, development and coaching of the Non-Gaming Accounting Representatives ensuring accurate and timely completion of assignments
  • Maintains balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Maintains statistical records of assigned areas
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate posting of comp adjustments
  • Leads and participates in physical inventories
  • Assists the Senior Accountants in the preparation of month-end closing packages
  • Compiles payment requests for tenants

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development and enforcement or departmental procedures, standards and controls
  • Assists in the distribution of comp reports

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • One year of Accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment
  • In lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, one years of Accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment may be considered

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to review and comprehend lease agreements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Training Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training Courses
  • Knowledge of Infinium, ACSC, LMS, RPOS, Cognos, Shift 4, Net Vuepoint and Infinium software

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Office work environment
  • Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time with frequent bending and lifting during physical inventories
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
