POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team within the gaming industry. This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of complex, shared services accounting functions, including general ledger management and multi-company accounting. The role requires a strong background in financial analysis, a detailed understanding of accounting principles, and familiarity with gaming-related financial operations, regulatory compliance, and revenue streams, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers, including accounts specific to gaming operations.
• Prepare financial statements and detailed reports, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, corporate policies, and gaming regulatory requirements.
• Perform monthly and year-end close processes, including all reconciliation activities related to gaming revenue, cage/cash, and operational accounts.
• Handle daily activities for multiple company accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions, including gaming-related transactions.
• Oversee shared services accounting activities, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and gaming revenue accounting.
• Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Compliance, IT, and Gaming Operations) to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide recommendations to management, including analysis of gaming performance metrics and revenue trends.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, incorporating gaming operational data and projections.
• Participate in internal and external audits, including gaming regulatory audits, providing necessary documentation and responses.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, current accounting standards, and changes in gaming regulations.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, including training on gaming-specific accounting procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a senior position.
• Prior experience in shared services, general ledger management, and a multi-company environment is required.
• Experience in the gaming, casino, hospitality gaming, or regulated entertainment industry is strongly preferred.
• Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and gaming-related accounting practices.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial information and produce accurate financial reports.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience mentoring and leading junior staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or related field.
• Experience implementing new accounting systems or processes.
• Experience in a multinational organization or regulated gaming environment.
• Familiarity with gaming compliance, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements.
