Job Summary:
Riot Games is a leading company in the gaming industry, and they are seeking a Director of Game Product Management for the Cross-VALORANT Experience initiative. This role involves leading teams to enhance player experiences, driving strategy, and managing complex projects to ensure a cohesive gaming environment for VALORANT players worldwide.
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for player facing and highly technical opportunities on the VALORANT XVX team.
• Drive the core loop in the player flow by improving session start, in-game, and post-game experiences so each match feels rewarding and naturally leads to the next.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, adeptly anticipating future challenges and orchestrating multi-team responses to meet the evolving needs of our players and development teams located throughout the world.
• Work across all game teams and lead highly complex cross game projects representing the holistic out of game player experience.
• Manage technical complexity, validating requirements and designs for data-intensive projects, and communicating technical tradeoffs to a non-technical audience.
• Partner and collaborate with Engineering, Production, Product, and Insights to align on the product and technical plans and ensure that the products are aligned with the game team’s and Riot’s goals.
• Manage relationships with partners, stakeholders and customers, in addition to direct management over PMs and TPMs within the organization.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience leading teams through feature development (planning, execution, delivery, post-release support)
• 8+ years experience in game / software development
• 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Producer on medium to large teams
• 4+ years of direct people management experience
• Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
• Deep understanding of player/customer needs within complex audience segments and the ability to anticipate future demands
• Understanding of mechanics used in Free to Play games to drive engagement and revenue, either through design or personal experience
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams to successful major product outcomes
• Experience breaking down complex problems and problem spaces using various business or product frameworks and crafting optimal solutions for our players and our business
Preferred:
• Experience in video game production, product management, consulting, or business strategy for consumer-facing products preferred
• Deep understanding of video games, video game systems, and Player behavior either professionally or personally
• MBA or advanced degrees in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, a related discipline, or comparable work experiences (meaningful work experience = 3+ years in relevant space)
