Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Austin Peay State University invites interested applicants for the Event and Game Day Operations Coordinator position. This position will be responsible for maintaining event management standards for select sports and events taking place within the Austin Peay State University Athletics Department with the primary objective to continue improving the event experience. The position will require a strong, working knowledge and understanding of NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules and regulations.
Temporary position 30 hours per week
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Create game day and event documents: timing sheets, visiting team guides, security notes, etc.
Organize and run event operations meetings
Coordinate with teams, officials, and visiting teams on game-day needs.
Lead in set-up and striking of required gameday equipment.
Supervise event staff working varsity sports to ensure proper management.
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference, and compliance with Austin Peay State University Policies.
Assist in scheduling table crew and game officials.
Work with the Athletic Business Office to ensure all game day staff receive payment: Third party staffing, table crew, officials, etc.
Attend game management meetings for Football games, the United Athletic Conference Championship, and the FCS Playoff Games.
Assist game manager in assigned area.
Other duties including:

Responsible for maintaining NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference, and Austin Peay State University rules Compliance.
This position will be required to work nights and weekends and may be asked to travel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in managing staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or collegiate athletics regulations and policies is a plus.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
