A Taste of What You'll Do

As an Account Manager - Customer Development, you will play a critical role in driving profitable share growth and elevating Gallo's presence within assigned customer accounts. You'll build meaningful, strategic relationships with key customers and distributor partners, ensuring the successful execution of programs, priorities, and growth initiatives across a dynamic portfolio of wine and spirits brands.

In this role, you'll spend time in the field and collaborating cross-functionally to identify opportunities and deliver strong business results. You will analyze market, sales, and forecast data to shape strategies, develop joint business plans, and expand distribution across both physical and digital channels. Your ability to influence, present compelling ideas, and align resources will be key to bringing new items to market and strengthening brand presence.

You will also champion innovation and continuous improvement, helping maximize e-commerce and digital marketing opportunities. Acting as a Gallo ambassador, you'll represent the brand with professionalism in the marketplace and community. This role requires strong collaboration across customer teams, distributor organizations, and internal stakeholders to ensure best-in-class execution and sustained growth.
 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of E. & J. Gallo Winery Sales, Gallo Affiliated or Non-affiliated Distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of CPG sales/account management, retail sales/account management, or corporate business development reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of E. & J. Gallo Winery Sales, Gallo Affiliated or Non-affiliated Distributor Sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of CPG sales/account management, retail sales/account management, or corporate business development reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.

  • Required to obtain Liquor License as required by state/locality.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
     

How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales or category development experience to include a prior rotation as a Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, Spirits Development Specialist, or Account Manager 1; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of external alcohol sales experience to include account management experience.
  • Skilled in communication, project management and analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience working with business tools and systems such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and category or sales data platforms.
