Job Title: UI/UX Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager/Technical Lead
Local Candidates only
While the intent may be a long-term tenure, this position is subject to annual budget restrictions. The initial contract is through the end of this fiscal year and is anticipated to be renewed July 1, 2026.
Job Summary:
The Web Designer & UI/UX Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing engaging, user-centric web interfaces that enhance digital experience. This role combines creative design, front-end development, and data-driven decision-making through analytics to ensure the website meets user needs and business goals. The ideal candidate has a strong balance of visual design skills, technical front-end expertise, and analytical insight into user behavior and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Collaborate with Business Analysts and content stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into user-centered designs and functional UI deliverables.
โ€ข Proactively participate in core team forums, providing regular updates and insights into work progress.
โ€ข Take ownership of end-to-end design alignment, ensuring seamless integration with other functional areas.
โ€ข Demonstrate leadership and cross-functional ownership, contributing to areas overlapping content or requirement clarification.
โ€ข Translate UI/UX designs into intuitive and user-friendly UI/UX designs, responsive web interfaces adhering to project goals and timelines.
โ€ข Work closely with technical leaders to ensure design solutions are feasible and meet technical requirements
โ€ข Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, as needed
โ€ข Experience with front-end development frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
โ€ข Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices for inclusive design.
โ€ข Implement and maintain tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Hotjar, or Mixpanel) to measure website traffic and user engagement.
โ€ข Analyze performance metrics such as bounce rates, conversion funnels, and session times to inform UX improvements.
โ€ข Generate periodic reports and insights to guide user engagement & retention improvements, conversion rate optimization, website speed, accessibility and SEO scores.
โ€ข Generate Insights from analytics that lead to measurable UX or Business Impact.
โ€ข Conduct A/B testing to validate design and content decisions.

Requirements:
โ€ข 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user-centered design principles
โ€ข Experience with CMS platforms, Version control, data visualization and dashboarding.
โ€ข Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and Business Teams
โ€ข Proficiency in design tools, such as Canva, Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
โ€ข Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar framework).
โ€ข Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio).
โ€ข Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
โ€ข Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., GitHub).
โ€ข Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
