Adjunct Faculty, Geographical Information Science (GIS)

The Department of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability is seeking dedicated adjunct instructors in Geographical Information Science (GIS), Remote Sensing, Web-based Mapping, and Cartography.  The department is open to special topics proposed by adjuncts as well. 

Course sizes are relatively small, and our students are committed and engaged.  Courses are frequently offered in the evenings, but other scheduling options are available in consultation with the Chair of Geography, Planning, and Sustainability. 

Candidates for adjunct positions must have a master's degree, preferably in the field in which they are teaching.  Work experience in the teaching field may be substituted for a master's degree in the teaching field, but a master's degree is required.

Please note: candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $1,975 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.
