Job Summary
Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) is now inviting applications for the position of Economics Instructor within the Business and Related Technologies division. The initial term contract is for a ten-month contract.
Job Duties:
The instructor is responsible for facilitating student learning, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and supporting student success. The instructor will contribute to curriculum development, participate in departmental and college activities, and support the mission of Kentucky Community and Technical College System & MCTC by promoting academic excellence and workforce readiness.
• Teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester.
• Plan and carry out instructional activities.
• Provide academic advising and assist with student recruitment, retention, and student outcome assessment.
• Maintain records and report on student progress.
• Keep abreast of changes in the discipline and update the program accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities, professional growth, and institutional service.
• Engage in various departmental activities, including course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and participation in continuing education/community service.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Economics or a Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Economics from a regionally accredited institution.
• Demonstrated ability to teach economics concepts effectively at the postsecondary level.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student & institutional success.
Additional Skills Requested:
This is an in-person instructional role that may be based at any of the college's campuses, including Maysville, Montgomery, Rowan, or Licking Valley. Course delivery may include in-person, hybrid, or remote instruction and presentation of course materials depending on course offerings and institutional needs; however, the position is primarily campus-based with remote work flexibility consistent with MCTC & KCTCS guidelines.
