Job description

Overview

The Furniture Project Coordinator is an integral member of the Furniture sales team and is responsible for supporting all pre and post sales activities to facilitate the sales cycle. This position is responsible for working closely with sales associates and their customers to secure all opportunities. This position assists in resolving service issues and develops plans to resolve those issues independently. In addition, this position will be responsible for customer account support, direct interaction with customer account base and interaction with various departments within ODP Business Solutions, vendors, and furniture manufacturers. This position has a direct impact on potential contract furniture sales through the timely and accurate response to problems related to orders and customer concerns.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research, craft and assemble all proposals and bids targeted to the customers’ needs and requirements by collaborating with the sales team, Design and ODP Business Solutions subject matter experts. Proposals and bids to include pricing, discounts, and installation cost.
  • Collaborate with internal Furniture support team and external vendor to accurately identify product pricing, detailed specification, and estimate all aspects of contract furniture projects.
  • Facilitate new account and new vendor set-up process as required. Acquire all necessary customer sign offs and required documents to process final order.
  • Provide customer service to both internal and external customers. Clearly convey accurate, thorough or relevant information related to status updates, problems and customer issues to furniture sales team in a timely manner that enables the sales team to engage with the customer in an effective manner. Also serves as the contact point or liaison between furniture and ODP Business Solutions centralized functions or departments and resolve any issues related to a customer’s order.
  • Associate will interact with account maintenance, accounts payable, ODP Business Solutions customer service, electronic commerce, information technology, inventory management, marketing, national accounts, and sourcing teams.
  • Manage and monitor the furniture ordering process from ordering acknowledgements; creating all installation packets and forwarding to installation contractors; updating installation schedule dates; identifying back charges; managing punch lists; initiating the claims process for warranty issues; and tracking proof of deliveries.
  • Assist the sales team in the acquisition of new Furniture customers and provide support for ongoing retention activities for existing accounts. Serves as a resource for the sales team to enable team to generate sales and retain business. May also provide general administrative support to preferred manufacturers during the pre-sales process.
  • Generate and update reports to ensure accurate and timely information is available for the sales team and customers. Reports may include customer status, backlog status, and other general reports.
  • Note: Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Education and Experience:

Level of Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent, education preferred

Minimum Years of Experience: 2

Type of Experience: Sales Support Role Furniture Industry preferred

Technical Competencies & Information Systems: Proficient in MS Suite

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and organize multiple activities, tasks, and requests from multiple internal and external customers.
  • Ability to act or complete tasks without prompting and effectively communicate the results or actions taken to internal or external customers in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to maintain constructive relationships when faced with difficult internal and external customers and under time constraints.
  • Must remain flexible and open to change due to changing internal processes, multiple projects, and varying customer demands while preventing issues/distractions from interfering with work deadlines or deliverables.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $23.28/hour to $36.37/hour, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
