Job description

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Team. The Engineering Manager Oversees the strategic organization of the department and engineering projects which includes leading teams of domestic and overseas engineers, ensuring successful execution of projects with technical expertise and leadership skills. In this capacity it is required to work closely with other departments, primarily with the product development team as well as sourcing staff overseas to ensure proper execution and on time delivery of each project.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • · Lead and mentor a team of furniture engineers and CAD specialists.
  • · Develop team capabilities and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering output.
  • · Set clear objectives, delegate responsibilities.
  • · Oversee the engineering of products from concept through production, including prototyping and determining needed construction joinery and materials.
  • · Ensure all designs meet industry standards for regulatory compliance, safety, durability, and ergonomics.
  • · Review and approve technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications with product development group, prior to releasing for quote.
  • · Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to company established specifications and standards
  • · Translate conceptual sketches into detailed production drawings.
  • · Work closely with Product Development and Sourcing to ensure all deadlines are properly met.
  • · On-going communication with US and Asia teams to ensure projects are complete and advancing as expected.
  • · Create and maintain best practices, documentation standards, and design workflows.
  • · Drive continuous improvement in product development timelines, cost efficiency, and quality control.
  • · Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities: 

  • · Proficient in CAD software.
  • · Proficient in Microsoft Office.

· Organizational skills for managing various projects at different stages in development. 

  • · Knowledge of wood, metal, and upholstery construction methods and materials.
  • · Familiarity with furniture manufacturing processes.
  • · Experience with ERP platforms, and engineering documentation control.
  • · Exceptional organizational, planning, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • · Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • · Detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-driven

Preferred Education & Experience: 

  • · Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • · Desire 8+ years in furniture engineering or product development, with 3 years in a management role.
  • · Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects from concept to launch.
  • · Knowledge of furniture manufacturing
  • · Experience of working with international sources.
