Job description

Customer Service Engineer

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Customer Service Engineer in the OEM division. This key position will provide engineering support to OEM customers and Ziegler Power Systems Sales Personnel. This is a fast paced position with a broad scope of responsibility and autonomy while you work with customers to design CAT engines into their chassis. This process requires initiative and creativity as you work directly with our customers engineering team to make every installation a success.

Responsibilities:
  • Partners and collaborates with customer to define total requirements
  • Works directly with the customer's engineering personnel to analyze their power systems needs and assists them in finding the most efficient product solution
  • Compiles technical data required for our customers to make informed decisions on whether to purchase our engines or not
  • Participates in technical sales calls and presentations
  • Acts as key negotiator on all commercial aspects of assigned accounts
  • Develops or packages 3D drawing packages of the engine and related components recommended for each customer
  • Leads field support to OEM customers to assist with the integration of our engine
  • Completes field audits and testing of installed engine installations in OEM equipment
  • Manages customer engine inventory, forecasts and engine orders
  • Documents the engine and component specifications required by individual customers
  • Monitors and manages Accounts Payable and Receivable to ensure they are current
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 4+ years of Engineering experience required
  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge and mechanical aptitude required
  • Electrical Power, Electrician, Generator or Reciprocating Engine experience strongly preferred
  • Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong PC knowledge with MS Office experience
  • Personal Characteristics: Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation
Travel:
  • Up to 25% travel
Minimum Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing
  • Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be moderate at times.

The pay range for this position is

$82,300.00 to $102,900.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
