Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Business Development Manager for Cancer Care is responsible for supporting the business development of radiation oncology, apheresis, BMT, oncology inpatient services, outpatient services, and other interdisciplinary programs for adult oncology services. Partners with the Director of Business development to explore business opportunities which includes developing the business plan and related presentations, organizes planning meetings with physicians, researches details related to new programs, and manages the projects to implement those plans to expand existing programs or establish new ones. Must be knowledgeable of healthcare trends and emerging technological developments impacting delivery of care, integrating that into strategic planning. Works closely with marketing to develop strategy and tactics to foster growth. Works closely with the community of Hematology Oncology staff and physicians as well as other medical staff involved with cancer programs to resolve operational issues and develop or grow programs. Identifies and implements strategies to increase community awareness of PSL Cancer Care programs.

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required, RN preferred.

B. Education: Bachelors in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or clinical discipline.

C. Experience: Minimum of three years in the healthcare industry required.

D. Special Qualifications: Must understand market analysis and market share data, cancer, disease progress, financial and operational statistics. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must demonstrate good working relationship with physicians.
