HL Mando America Corporation has an opening for the position of Functional Safety Engineer III (Ref# FSEIII57KD).


Work Location: 5230 S. Carter Rd., Auburn, MI 48611

Position may telecommute / work remotely 30 days/year.


Job Duties: Responsible for supporting the organization in developing and implementing functional safety concepts in the company’s automotive products, including brake and steering systems. Lead DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and other safety related analysis. Develop requirement traceability and test requirements and define the test requirements to satisfy safety goals. Apply ISO 26262 safety standards to automotive product development. Manage customer technical requirements through requirements tools. Make high level trade-offs to optimize system architecture. Perform design and safety analysis of systems to assess performance to requirements. Generate subsystem and component allocations to meet system level requirements. Be a technical representative to automotive customers for systems safety requirements. Coordinate systems safety technical activities among subsystem and component groups to meet system requirements. Read and understand microprocessors and other IC datasheets and apply them to safety concepts. Develop safety requirements for software and hardware design engineers.


Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Design Engineer or related experience. Position requires 4 years of experience with functional safety analysis. 40hrs/week.
