Hexcel is currently seeking a NDT Level 2 Technician for our Kent, WA, USA location. The NDT Level 2 Technician will be responsible for performing ultrasonic testing of composite structures. The technician will perform testing per established written customer specifications and Hexcel ultrasonic techniques and procedures.
Summary pay range: $48,350 - $86,000 annual salary. This role is non-exempt.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Ability to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluates, and document results, in accordance with written techniques and procedures.
  • Organize and document inspection results and use the applicable specifications, codes, standards and other contract documents to prepare procedures and techniques for Level III approval.
  • Requires operation of portable ultrasonic flaw detection equipment for through transmission and pulse-echo methods.
  • Requires utilization of automated scanning systems such as AUSS, and MAUS. Experience with phased array a plus.
  • Capability to clamp and fixture parts, operate systems, and evaluate data.
  • Characterize indications and record results in a fast-paced, high production environment.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant NDT experience. A combination of NDT experience and a technical degree in NDT will be considered.
  • Documented proof of previous or current Ultrasonic Level II certification.
  • Ultrasonic inspection experience in composites is highly preferred.
  • Must be qualified for certification in accordance with NAS410.
  • Experience working with portable ultrasonic flaw detection equipment for through transmission and pulse-echo methods.
  • Experience using automated scanning systems such as AUSS, and MAUS. Experience with phased array a plus.
  • Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to work swing or night shift.
  • Lift 30 pounds without assistance.
