What are ASNT Level II inspectors?

ASNT Level II inspectors are professionals certified by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) to perform and supervise nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. ASNT Level II certification demonstrates advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in specific NDT methods, ensuring high standards of safety and quality in industries such as manufacturing, construction, and aerospace.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

An Asnt Level II (Assistant Level II) typically does not earn $10,000 a month without additional experience or certifications. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree often include specialized trades like commercial pilot, real estate broker, or certain sales roles, but these usually require specific skills, licenses, or extensive experience. Most jobs paying $10,000 monthly generally demand advanced skills, certifications, or significant industry experience rather than just a job title alone.

How much do level 2 NDT techs make?

Level 2 NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) technicians typically earn between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience, industry, and location. Certification as a Level 2 and proficiency with testing methods like ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing can influence salary levels.

What types of non-destructive testing methods are commonly performed by an ASNT Level II, and how does the role typically interact with other team members during inspections?

ASNT Level II professionals frequently perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, and eddy current testing, depending on their area of certification. In their daily duties, they are responsible for setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting tests, interpreting results, and documenting findings. Collaboration is key, as they often work closely with Level I technicians, engineers, and quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Level II personnel also play a supervisory role, providing guidance and technical support to less experienced staff.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ASNT Level II, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ASNT Level II, you need a solid understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, industry standards, and a valid ASNT Level II certification. Familiarity with NDT equipment, inspection techniques, and reporting software is typically required. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication make candidates stand out in this position. These skills and qualifications are crucial to ensure accurate inspection results, safety compliance, and clear documentation in testing environments.

What is the highest paid NDT?

In nondestructive testing (NDT), the highest paid roles are often those with advanced certifications such as ASNT Level III or specialized skills in ultrasonic, radiographic, or phased array testing. These positions typically command higher salaries due to expertise, experience, and the complexity of the inspection methods involved.
