X-Ray Industries, an Applus+ company, is seeking Level 2 Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technicians to join its growing team. Position Summary:

X-Ray Industries, an Applus+ company, is seeking Level 2 Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technicians to join its growing team. The NDT Level 2 Technician is responsible for setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting NDT tests, interpreting and evaluating results, and documenting inspection results in accordance with approved procedures, applicable codes, specifications, and standards.

The successful candidate will be familiar with the scope and limitations of the applicable test method and will provide guidance and, where assigned, on-the-job training to trainees and Level 1 personnel. Technicians must be certified to NAS 410, while other certification standards may be considered upon review of certification records.

The position is based in an indoor work environment with first, second, and third shifts available according to facility needs. No travel is involved, and training is provided in-house.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and standardize NDT equipment and conduct testing in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Process parts and interpret and evaluate inspection results for acceptance or rejection.
  • Document inspection and testing results accurately.
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of the applicable NDT technique or method.
  • Provide guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • Assist with on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and Level 1 personnel as assigned.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and contractual documents governing NDT methods.
  • Develop work instructions from approved general procedures when specified in the written practice, subject to final approval by a Level 3 certified in the applicable method.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to certify in additional NDT methods offered at the respective facility.
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Documentation of high school diploma or GED, OJT hours, and previous certification hours is required.
  • The candidate must have the skills and knowledge necessary to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate results, and document findings.
  • The candidate should be familiar with the scope and limitations of the applicable NDT test method.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and contractual documents governing NDT methods.
  • The candidate should have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
Certification:
  • Certifiable to NDT Level 2 in accordance with NAS 410.
  • Other certification standards may be considered upon review of certification records.
Requirements:
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • The candidate must meet the requirements for Level 2 certification under NAS 410.
  • The candidate must be capable of providing guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • The candidate must be able to perform assigned NDT testing, calibration, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation activities.
  • State ID is required.
