Job description

Montessori Academy of Upland is looking for a full-time Preschool Assistant Teacher for our closing shift, 9 am-6 pm. Please review the following description of qualifications and responsibilities. If you are interested in a position please email your resume and transcripts.

The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting a teacher in the general supervision and management of a classroom of children.

 QUALIFICATIONS;

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE 12 ECE UNITS.

CPR preferred or required to obtain after hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following;

  • Assisting in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
  • Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up learning centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
  • Supervising the children during class time and outside play.
  • Helping with the general housekeeping tasks.
  • Assisting the teacher in any other appropriate ways.
  • Treating all children with dignity and respect.
  • Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
  • Attending parent meetings, open houses, and other classroom events.
  • Participating in professional organizations that work for the improvement of early childhood education.
  • Potty Training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands will include, but not be limited to, the following;

This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, speaking, listening, and cognitive thinking. Also, must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, and be able to get up and down from a sitting position.
