Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be Interfacing with Bechtel field engineering, planners, and supervision to facilitate Installation Work Package (IWP) scoping in Teamworks and P6 L4 schedule development. Providing timely updates to Area Field Engineer's and Supervision as to Installation Work Package (IWP) scope, status. Focus on coordinating Sub-contractor IWP packages development and review proposed packages. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepares discipline specific Installation Work Packages (IWPs) - Scoping and Sequencing IWPs.
  • Works in collaboration with field supervision and field engineering to manage the IWPs, focusing on the detailed planning aspect, which allows supervision to focus on managing the field work.
  • Coordinates the removal of Engineering and Procurement constraints impacting the execution of Installation Work Packages.
  • Maintaining IWP input in Teamworks and updating as design is completed and revised.
  • Relays Construction priorities upstream to prioritize Engineering and Procurement deliverables and monitors design and material downstream impacts to Construction to replan as necessary.
  • Coordinates with EPC automation personnel to configure BSAPs to support the execution of IWPs.
  • Identifies gaps in IWP planning and proactively seeks collaboration across project EPC organizations.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of Advanced Work Packaging concepts and terminology.
  • Possesses knowledge of and prior experience working with variety of software tools and database applications - Primavera, Synchro 4D, Navisworks, ModelBuilder, Book Builder, TEAMWorks, Setroute, and Xfighter.
  • In-depth understanding of Construction, Procurement, Engineering, Start-up, and Project Controls deliverables.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
  • Must be able to do extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
  • Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.) Prior experience in work scope packaging, material take-offs and quantity reporting.
