Job description

About the Role:
As the CBRE Evening and Weekend Events Coordinator, you will assist in the planning, coordination, and day-of execution of small to large events.
You will work a flexible schedule that will include working independently up to 4 evenings/nights a week and up to 3 Saturdays a month.
The role is onsite in Kansas City, MO USA.
What You'll Do:
  • Primary point of contact for planning and coordination of meetings that take place after 5:00pm on weekdays, and up to 3 Saturdays a month. Working a flexible schedule to maintain full-time status when evening and Saturday events are not scheduled.
  • Provide technical AV assistance to meeting guests and become the primary backup to the Conference Center technology specialist.
  • Assist meeting planners with reporting and scheduling events.
  • Oversee Conference Center turnover and room refresh.
  • Recognize and solve typical and a-typical problems that can occur during events without supervisor approval.
  • Follow standardized procedures and practices and receive regular but moderate supervision and guidance.
  • Assist with other duties delegated by the CBRE Property Manager, including but not limited to, front desk reception coverage.

What You'll Need:
To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High School Diploma or GED required. 2-3 years of job-related experience and Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Fulfill the physical requirements associated with role. This includes stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, carrying and climbing a 6 foot ladder, and moving furniture. Must be able to lift/carry loads up to 50lbs.
  • Requires intermediate problem-solving skills with the capacity to review and select solutions from available options with supervisor approval.
  • Ability to explain detailed and complicated information within the team in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other vendors that service the Conference Center.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong aptitude for learning new technology and software.
  • Strong organizational skills with a robust inquisitive mindset.
