Visiting Professor of Finance

Job Description:

The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary's University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Professor position beginning August 2027. This is a one-year position with the possibility of one-year renewals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The teaching requirement for this 10-month contract is 24 credits (8 classes) between the Fall and Spring semesters and will include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses in finance. Undergraduate courses are primarily delivered in person and offered during the day with some evening options, while graduate courses are delivered using on-line synchronous and asynchronous formats. The successful candidate will also serve as the primary contact for student recruitment and advising for the finance major and minor. It is likely that the required teaching load will involve 5-6 different course preparations.

All faculty are expected to serve the Mount by advising students majoring in the school's programs, developing course curriculum, participating in assessment, remaining current in their discipline, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Ph.D. or Graduate degree in Finance

    • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.

    • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

    • Prior university-level teaching experience.

  • Preferred:

    • Professional or industry experience in the field.

    • Evidence of scholarly engagement and professional development.

    • An earned Professional Certification (e.g. CFP, CFA, or ChFC)

Salary Range:
The salary range below represents the anticipated salary range for this position and is provided for transparency. Final salary offers are determined based on qualifications, experience, and discipline-specific market factors.

$65,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications, background and experience.
