About the Company:
Founded in 2017 by Anthony and Joe Russo, AGBO is an artist-led independent studio shaping the future of film and television. The Russo Brothers and AGBO have generated more than $7 billion at the global box office, including Avengers: Endgame. The studio's projects include Academy Award-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, Netflix hits The Gray Man and Extraction, and Prime Video's visceral thriller The Bluff and the global Citadel franchise.

AGBO is currently in production with Netflix on Tygo and Mercenary, both part of the Extraction universe, as well as with Lionsgate on John Rambo, a prequel to the iconic franchise. The studio is in post-production on The Whisper Man, starring Robert De Niro, and Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released December 18, 2026. AGBO will begin shooting Avengers: Secret Wars later this year. Both upcoming Avengers films are directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and co-produced by AGBO and Marvel Studios.

Position Summary:
As a Tools & Pipeline Engineer on the Interactive team, you will design, build, and maintain the internal tooling and production pipelines that power game development. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and artists to understand their workflows and deliver solutions that remove friction, increase efficiency, and support our ambitious creative goals. This is a highly collaborative role with direct impact on how the team ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop internal tools, editor extensions, and pipeline utilities that improve developer and artist workflows.
  • Build and maintain automated build, integration, and deployment pipelines for game development.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and art teams to identify pain points and deliver targeted tooling solutions.
  • Maintain and improve asset import, processing, and management pipelines within Unreal Engine.
  • Write clear documentation for tools, pipelines, and processes to ensure team-wide adoption.
  • Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and reliability across the production environment.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-6 years of experience in a tools, pipeline, or technical development role, preferably in the games industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or C++ for tool development.
  • Experience developing tools and editor extensions within Unreal Engine (UE4 and/or UE5).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and build automation (e.g., Jenkins, BuildGraph, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to gather requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving production environment.
  • Bonus: Experience with Python scripting for DCC tools (Houdini, Blender, etc.).
  • Bonus: Experience in a startup or early-stage game development studio.

  • This role is based in Raleigh, NC, and we are primarily seeking candidates who are currently located in the area or are open to relocating. In-person collaboration with our technical and creative teams is essential to the success of this position.
