Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our neurologydepartment.

About the Role:
The veterinary assistant that we are looking for will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe space for neurology consultations and treatments in addition to:
• Support technicians and doctors as needed
• Support other departments in the hospital as needed, leadership guided
• Safe, low stress patient restraint for catheter placement and medication administration
• Assist in smooth transition between each consultation/procedure
• Assisting with laboratory tests, MRI's, CT's, and radiographs
• Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, maintain proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs.
• Assist with the set up and break down of the operating room
• Assist in sterile procedures by opening/unwrapping sterile packs & instruments and giving them to the surgeon or surgical assistant in a sterile fashion
• Performing daily, weekly, and monthly department tasks and maintenance of equipment
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and someone who is a team player and likes to work within a diverse group of technicians and doctors.
About You:
  • Minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in a progressive veterinary hospital
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
  • Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in stressful situations

Pay Range:
VA: $22- $32 per hour
Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
Schedule:
4/10 hour days. Days to be determined
Must be available on weekends and holidays as well as procedural on-calls
