Join a High-Impact Federal Engineering Team

We are seeking a Vertical Transportation Specialist to support federal facilities across the region. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert overseeing elevator and vertical transportation systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational performance.

This is a long-term, on-site contract opportunity offering the ability to work across multiple federal buildings while supporting mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect elevators and vertical transportation systems across multiple facilities
  • Conduct condition assessments and recommend repairs or modernization
  • Review contractor proposals, designs, and project deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders, contractors, and building managers
  • Support maintenance programs, inspections, and performance tracking
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and cost estimates
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and project acceptance activities
  • Coordinate with internal teams, tenants, and external partners
  • Support regional vertical transportation program initiatives and standards
  • Additional duties as assigned
Work Environment
  • Full-time, on-site position supporting federal facilities
  • Travel required across multiple regional locations
  • Role includes fieldwork in mechanical spaces, requiring walking, climbing, and site inspections
  • Exposure to construction environments and varying conditions
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering, or related field
  • Certified Elevator Inspector (QEI certification required)
  • Strong knowledge of elevator systems, safety standards, and maintenance practices
  • Knowledge of ASME codes, policies, regulations and standards
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, codes, and contractor submissions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to travel regularly to multiple facilities

Preferred

  • Experience supporting federal or government facilities
  • Familiarity with building management or maintenance systems
  • Experience reviewing construction or modernization projects
Security Clearance Requirement
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Secret / Top Secret / Public Trust)
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation and PIV card issuance
