Value-Added Services Specialist

Description -

Role Summary

The Value-Added Services (VAS) Specialist is a key individual contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing value-added service offerings within HP's distribution operations. This hands-on role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions such as product configuration, kitting, labeling, bundling, and light assembly that enhance customer satisfaction and differentiate HP's supply chain capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of VAS including product customization, kitting, labeling, bundling, light assembly, and other customer-specific requirements within HP's distribution centers.
  • Analyze VAS processes using data analytics and process mapping to identify improvement opportunities, drive efficiency, and ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, IT, and Warehouse teams to design and implement new VAS offerings in response to customer and market needs.
  • Ensure all VAS activities meet HP's quality, safety, and compliance standards, as well as customer specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for VAS, ensuring consistent and repeatable execution across the network.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs such as VAS turnaround time, order accuracy, cost per service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools, automation, and WMS to streamline and scale VAS operations.
  • Train and coach warehouse and operations staff on VAS processes and best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to new service development, process optimization, and supply chain transformation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and operational excellence in VAS activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years in distribution, contract manufacturing, or electronics fulfillment with responsibility for kitting, configuration, or packaging operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP, modern WMS platforms, and work-order or manufacturing-execution modules; ability to interpret BOM, engineering drawings, and label specifications.
  • Proficiency with Excel plus a data-visualization tool such as Power BI or Tableau; able to translate raw data into actionable insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt, or APICS CPIM/CSCP certification.
  • Experience with regulated products (hazardous goods, lithium batteries) or configure-to-order imaging.
  • Familiarity with print-and-apply systems, pick-to-light technology, or collaborative robots in a distribution environment

The base pay range for this role is $65,600 to $101,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
