Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Dalton, GA
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am - 7pm
Department: Tufting
Summary Of Position
The Tufting Machine Operator position is a tufting team member who operates a tufting machine and directs assigned Creeler 1, Creeler 2, and/or Tufting Operator 1 personnel during tufting production.
Description:
  • Confirm specifications of the finished product during production
  • Obtain weight check for first roll of every order
  • Hang and tie or splice fiber into creel
  • Rotate small and large fiber tubes as needed to maximize creel loads (cutbacks)
  • Assists in decreeling machines, or removing spent fiber tubes and packaging fiber and dunnage from the creel
  • Assists in identifying non-conforming fibers and materials to maintain product efficacy
  • Identify streaks, high lines, low lines, loops, missing ends, or other deficiencies in turf products
  • Using mending gun to repair turf rolls
  • Operate rollup
  • Operates tufting machine without direct supervision
  • Ensure order needs are met
  • Post transactions in NAV
  • Doff and label finished rolls
  • Notify maintenance and Supervisor of any mechanical or product issues
  • Notify Quality Control of any product deficiencies
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications:
  • Current operator experience 2 yrs minimum
  • Previous Fields experience preferred
  • Must be bilingual
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands and finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently life and move objects up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
