Job description

If you're skilled at analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies for optimizing operations, then you could be a good fit for this Transportation Analyst position with W.B. Mason! We're hiring an analytical problem solver to join our office full-time and help refine our fleet management procedures. You'll track our equipment, oversee fleet movements, improve our strategies, and help increase revenue.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in the transportation field
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent amount of work experience
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate with a team, and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Physical ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Geotab fleet management software proficiency - preferred

MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT

This role may involve operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The company supplies and mandates training and certification on each individual piece of equipment prior to permissible use. Use of any equipment by an employee on which they are not trained and certified may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Our Transportation Analyst Is Responsible For:

  • Analyzing route schedules and service capabilities and making adjustments to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability
  • Reporting weekly and monthly metrics to support data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborating with IT professionals to execute system enhancements
  • Evaluating daily operations, reviewing customer service profiles, and identifying strategies for optimizing logistics and maximizing revenue
  • Investigating recurring issues, identifying the source of deficiencies, and making strategic recommendations for improving operations
  • Helping develop new quality and cost control policies
  • Using Geotab to track equipment locations
  • Handling other duties as needed
