Overview:
Do you love sports? The Wisconsin Sports Radio Network is looking for a talented individual to host a daily sports talk show and serve as a producer.
Responsibilities
Sports Host Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
  • Hosting a daily show
  • Doing shows at different locations as requested
  • Topic Development / daily show meetings with producer before show to develop show rundown
  • Sales friendly
  • Recording Daily Show Promos
  • Social media promotion for daily show as well as during the show
  • Coverage of games in the area from time to time
  • Other duties as required by management.

Qualifications

Required & Preferred:
  • Must be computer literate; requires creative approach and ability to prioritize.
  • Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
  • Ability to produce programs that meet programming standards
  • Proven ability to contribute to a positive, diverse, creative, productive culture
  • Ability to evaluate content/quality/sound and act decisively w/sound judgment
  • Knowledge of new media applications for digital distribution, audience engagement and community networking
  • Spontaneous, interpretative judgments and solutions in fast-paced environment
  • Manages own workload with priorities based on show content and production
  • One to three years as producer or on-air contributor
  • Passion for current events, news, pop culture and what's happening around town
  • Comfortable running (and learning) multiple different board operating styles
  • Experience with radio clocks, logs and scheduling
  • Working knowledge of computer audio software, Adobe Audition, and Wide Orbit preferred
  • Demonstrated ability for using social media including, but not limited to X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and how they can help content, distribution or sales
  • Willing to work in the office or on location.
  • Multi-task with a variety of duties
  • Ability to ad lib while on air and at appearances in a coherent manner in situations that can change quickly.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work in compliance with company and FCC policies and procedures.
  • Work established schedule and other hours as needed.
  • Travel to and attend station promotional appearances including sales appearances.
