General Summary

The General Producer (General Sports Producer) is responsible for executing and implementing general production plans for all Wapa Deportes live special sports events. This role coordinates strategies among the Digital, News, Programming, and Promotions departments, ensuring operational quality and compliance with sales and production objectives.


Essential Responsibilities, Duties, and Tasks

The primary duty of the person holding this position consists of performing the following tasks in accordance with the Company’s policies, guidelines, and procedures:


Strategic Coordination and Programming

  • Coordinate strategies with the Digital, News, Programming, and Promotions departments.
  • Manage program selection and game scheduling.
  • Monitor all live feeds and Master Control.
  • Implement the established strategies and operations plan.



Production and Plan Implementation


• Implement the production plan for assigned events.

• Prepare quotes and estimates with production vendors for events.

• Supervise the Línea Deportiva program, coordinating and operating the process with the Union (agreements, stipulations).

• Manage content files and workflow.

• Coordinate with the Sales Assistant to prepare purchase requisitions for the station.

• Prepare the monthly expense report.


Sales and Commercial Content


• Create and prepare sales one-sheets and commercial offers.

• Coordinate and produce all sales content.

• Ensure achievement of sales objectives.


Accounting and Payments

  • Submit invoices to accounts payable for processing.
  • Provide required information for registering new vendors.
  • Follow up with accounts payable to verify payment status.


Supervisory Responsibility


Directly supervises 5 employees and indirectly supervises 5 additional collaborators (3 Promotions, 2 Production).


Required Communication Level

  • This position requires the ability to influence people inside and outside the department and may represent the department in complex matters. It involves continuous contact with people outside the company, negotiating and exercising influence on matters of complexity within and outside the department


Autonomy and Decision-Making

  • The position frequently requires exercising judgment and initiative to address situations and solve problems, which involves interpreting general guidelines and precedents. Decisions made have a direct impact on achieving departmental objectives.


Job Requirements

To perform successfully in this position, the individual must be able to complete each task fully.   • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Television Production, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in similar roles in television production, media, or the sports industry.
  • Knowledge of the sports industry.
  • Television production of live and sports events.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Market research and sales content management.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) – oral and written.


Physical Demands:

The position requires exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with extended work hours. The nature of live sports events requires seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
