Position Description:

Designs, develops, implements, and supports technology products and features within a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment, including Agile. Designs and implements container-based solutions, including deployments using Kubernetes on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) or Azure Kubernetes Service (Azure AKS). Utilizes Java fundamentals, including design patterns, algorithms, and concurrency/multithreading, as well as the Spring Framework and Spring Boot, in developing and enhancing software applications. Utilizes the Apache Camel framework in system integration, with emphasis on message routing and exchange processing. Supports cloudnative migration efforts and collaborates with development teams, business partners, technology leads, and Agile teams to ensure delivery of product roadmap commitments. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produces and maintains design and system documentation.
  • Coordinates software deployments and monitors postrelease performance to ensure alignment with specifications.
  • Assesses user requirements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Implements authorization and accesscontrol logic across applications.
  • Analyzes and translates business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Evaluates the design of existing and indevelopment systems to enhance functionality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Performs thorough unit and functional testing.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) applying SDLC and Agile principles in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting secure and scalable software solutions within a cloudenabled environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) applying SDLC and Agile principles in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting secure and scalable software solutions within a cloudenabled environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing application design, development, and implementation using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) within a microservicesbased SDLC environment.
  • DE performing legacy system modernization using structured refactoring techniques and dependencyremediation tools (Git and Groovy), within an enterprise application environment.
  • DE performing endtoend Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) automation and pipeline migration using standardized build, test, and deployment tools (Groovybased automation scripts and Git version control), within a cloud-based container orchestrated environment.
  • DE optimizing performance using multithreading and dataaccess acceleration through distributed caching and keyvalue data store technologies, with functionality validated via JUnit and codequality testing in highthroughput application environments.
