Senior Software Engineer — C++ / Python

Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM | Full-Time | On-Site | Immediate Start

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) at Kirtland AFB.

You’ll design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical software and backend services while supporting web applications, automation, CI/CD, and secure software development in a DoD environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance software using C++ and Python.
  • Support applications in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Develop backend services, web applications, and SQL database functionality.
  • Build automation using Bash and maintain Git/GitLab repositories.
  • Develop and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and implement improvements.
  • Support software deployment, configuration, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure development activities comply with applicable DoD security requirements.

    • PhD: 4+ years
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher) required within 60 days of hire.
