Ultimate Float Team - Registered Nurse (RN)

Are you an experienced nurse looking for flexibility, variety, and growth opportunities? Our Ultimate Float Team provides skilled, patient-centered care across 20+ units at the Sarasota Campus, with opportunities to float to specialty units such as Cornell and SMH Venice Campus, with the potential to float to ICU and Pediatrics as needed.
Job Summary
As a member of the Ultimate Float Team, you will provide professional nursing care in accordance with ANA and AACN Standards of Professional Practice and SMHCS policies (policy 126.054). This role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Patient Population & Key Responsibilities:
Patients requiring complex nursing assessment and care, including but not limited to:
  • Orthopedic & Trauma Care - Fractures, orthopedic abnormalities requiring surgical intervention, traction application, splinting, and skeletal immobilization.
  • Neurological Care - Acute Traumatic Brain Injuries with potential ventriculostomy management.
  • Cardiac Care - Titration of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, etc.).

Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.00. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.
Required Qualifications
- Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Require successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment. - Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire. - Require National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

- Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
