Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Graphic Designer II!
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Graphic Design Manager
Position: Full-Time, Non- Remote
Location: Boise, ID
This position is responsible for providing graphic design, including assets for digital and print media for our brands, e-commerce store and local showrooms. Under the direction of marketing leadership, this position generates the day-to-day output of the Creative Services team, designing and producing materials that are consistent with our brands.
This is a non-remote position and based in our Boise, ID HQ.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Design effective and persuasive print and digital ads, catalogs, billboards, in-store signage, customer handouts, homepage banners and promotional emails while showing amazing attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and/or agencies to keep projects on time and within budget.
    • Partner closely and manage all outside printers and oversee the printing process for visual and showroom teams.
  • Retouching and color-correcting product and lifestyle photography including pathing, masking, creating shadows, color matching samples to elevate photography and closely represent products.
  • Organize, manage and archive digital files, records and reports according to production procedures.
  • Develop creative assets for digital and print projects through design, photo editing and color correcting, color palette development, illustration and pattern design.
  • Deliver brilliant creative ideas and inspiring campaigns based on creative briefs and company-wide initiatives.
  • Manage creative workflow from inception to completion and insertion. Complete tasks and projects on time.
  • Collaborate and work cross functionally with Marketing, eCommerce, Merchandising, Operations and Store teams on a project basis.
  • Exemplify a team approach, be open and honest in communication and help others when they need assistance.
  • Perform other duties or special projects when assigned.
Who You Are
  • Bring a roll-up-your-sleeve, can-do attitude to the creative team with 2+ years design experience in a fast-paced retail and e-commerce setting.
  • Passionate about the work you deliver and able to meet creative deadlines.
  • Excel in and understanding of mixed media and application to marketing, production, website design, corporate branding and multimedia design.
  • Possess creative thinking skills and a discerning eye for visual composition.
    • Submission of a strong design and production portfolio is highly desirable.
  • Skilled user of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge and have experience working with outside printers and managing the printing process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package and Google docs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of design principles, color theory and composition.
  • Experience with:
    • User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.
    • Project management concepts and platforms, such as Trello, Basecamp, etc.
  • Strong time management skills, the ability to work well within a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Self-motivated in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledgeable about current web technologies, web standards, cross platform and browser compatibility, usability and best practices
  • Brings a roll-up-your-sleeve, can-do attitude to the creative team. Has an active interest in art/design. Is passionate about the work you deliver.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work and travel to other locations.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent professional experience.
