As a full-time sensory panelist, your day typically includes participating in structured tasting sessions, evaluating products based on specific attributes like flavor, texture, and aroma, and providing detailed feedback on standardized forms. You may also attend calibration meetings to ensure consistency in panel results and occasionally take part in training to refine your sensory skills. Collaboration is common, as you’ll work closely with sensory scientists and other panelists to maintain objective and reliable evaluations. The work environment is usually laboratory-based, with strict protocols to minimize bias and ensure accurate data collection.
