Job description

The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (AA&F) is seeking a fulltime Digital Creative Coordinator to join its Communications Department in Annapolis, Maryland. This role supports the organization's mission by helping bring to life stories of service, leadership, athletics, philanthropy, and lifelong engagement through compelling digital and visual storytelling.

The Digital Creative Coordinator supports the production, coordination, and administration of digital and visual content across AA&F communications channels, including web, social media, email, video, podcasts, publications, and media outreach. This role plays an important part in translating the organization's mission and priorities into engaging multimedia content that resonates with alumni, donors, volunteers, and institutional stakeholders.

Working closely with Creative, Digital, Editorial, and Media Relations colleagues, the Coordinator assists with content creation, asset management, project coordination, and creative operations. The role provides daytoday support while also offering room for professional growth as technologies, platforms, and storytelling approaches continue to evolve-particularly in areas such as AIenabled creative tools and emerging digital formats.

This exempt position reports to the Executive Director of Enterprise Communications and has a salary range of $49,600 - $62,000.

This position pays a competitive salary commensurate with experience and is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, when applicable. You would also be eligible for a generous benefits plan which includes medical, dental, vision, an FSA, an HSA, a fully-vested 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching, 22 days of accrued paid time off (PTO) per fiscal year, 14 paid holidays per calendar year, group life insurance, short-term & long-term disability, identity theft protection, and annual opportunities for professional development. Although not guaranteed, certain additional benefits may be offered through the Naval Academy, such as use of certain recreational facilities (including the Brigade Sports Complex gym, marina and indoor/outdoor pools), as well as category II eligibility for employee children to apply to the Naval Academy Primary School.

This position is based in historic Annapolis at our current offices in the Fluegel Alumni Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative & Digital Content Production

  • Support the creation and editing of video content, including filming, basic editing, captioning, and formatting for digital platforms.
  • Assist with podcast production and management, including scheduling, guest coordination, basic audio editing, show notes, metadata, and publishing support.
  • Provide writing and editing support for digital communications, including short features, web content, captions, scripts, and internal or external messaging as needed.
  • Assist with graphic design and visual production, including adapting templates, resizing and versioning artwork, and preparing basic printready and digital assets.
  • Support photography needs for events, interviews, and oncampus activities, including photo capture, basic editing, selection, and archiving.

Creative Operations & Project Coordination

  • Coordinate logistics for photo, video, and audio projects, including scheduling, preparation, equipment coordination, and onsite support when required.
  • Prepare image and video selects, maintain production checklists, and assist with quality assurance prior to publication or distribution.
  • Manage tasks, timelines, and assignments using Smartsheet, ensuring projects move efficiently from intake through delivery.
  • Assist with documentation of creative workflows and contribute to continuous improvement of production processes.

Digital Asset & Content Management

Organize, tag, and maintain digital assets within the organization's Canto digital asset management system, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and longterm usability.

Support file management, version control, metadata updates, and archiving across platforms.

Assist with crossteam file transfers and preparation of content for deployment across channels.

CrossTeam Collaboration & Media Support

  • Act as a collaborative liaison between Creative, Digital Communications, Editorial, and Media Relations teams to ensure brand consistency and message alignment.
  • Attend project and campaign meetings, contributing a creative and executionfocused perspective.
  • Provide media relations support as needed, including identifying visual assets, pulling background materials, and supporting communications response efforts under direction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience or relevant internship experience in communications, media, or creative roles.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator; Premiere Pro and/or audio tools a plus).
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn workflow and assetmanagement platforms such as Smartsheet, Canto, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadlinedriven environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in multimedia storytelling, digital communications, and visual content creation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm, integrity, and a commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned in support of Communications Department priorities.
