About HEBREW ACADEMY OF LONG BEACH

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

The Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) was founded in 1954 to address the need for an “intensive program of Jewish education” on the south shore of Long Island, NY. The Jewish community of Long Beach, NY with the cooperation of Torah U’Mesorah, The National Society for Hebrew Day Schools, took on the daunting task of establishing a Jewish Day School to meet the religious, academic and social needs of the ever-growing, post- World War II Jewish community. “In order to be free, a man must understand the tradition in which he lives” was the mantra of the HALB school at its inception. Since then, HALB has grown and built many times over and now sits on a beautiful campus in Woodmere, NY with over 800 children in grades 1-8. HALB has developed a reputation for providing excellence and balance in both Limudei Kodesh and General Studies and, in consonance with the HALB tradition, seeks to inculcate its students with a love for and commitment to Am Yisrael, Torat Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael. Our yeshiva is known for an incredibly warm, supportive and friendly atmosphere where each student is loved and respected for their unique nature. HALB is run in a highly professional manner and has a vast array of support services, extracurriculars and almost anything else you would expect in an outstanding, 21st century school.
