POSITION TITLE: Assistant Professor or Instructor of Human Resource Management

SUPERVISOR: Dean of the College of Business


PURPOSE:


The College of Business at Louisiana State University of Alexandria invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor or Instructor of Human Resource Management. We are seeking an educator who is committed to teaching excellence, student success, and the mission of an institution that values innovation, engagement, and service to Central Louisiana. This is a nine-month position.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Teach 12 to 15 credit hours per semester (fall and spring) in human resource management, organizational behavior, employment law, compensation and benefits, talent management, training and development, and related areas of business aligned with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.

Develop and deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Participate in curriculum planning, program review, and development of applied learning opportunities, including internships, case competitions, SHRM student chapter engagement, and community-based projects.

Maintain an active program of scholarship appropriate to the discipline that aligns with ACBSP expectations.

Support ACBSP accreditation by contributing to assessment, documentation, and continuous improvement of academic programs.

Support student recruitment, retention, outreach initiatives, and alumni engagement efforts.

Suppo11 Command Your Career a11d other career development programs designed to prepare students for success in the workforce.

Engage in service to the department1 College, University, and profession, including committee work, faculty governance, and involvement in business-community partnerships throughout Central Louisiana.

Facilitate workshops in collaboration with Continuing Education, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and other key stakeholders to support regional business growth and student learning.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


MBA with 18 hours of upper-level HR coursework.

Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management), or PHR, SPHR, or GPHR (HR Certification Institute).

Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners.


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:


Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Human Resource Management, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related business discipline from a regionally accredited institution.


Additional specialty certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), CBP (Certified Benefits Professional), CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist), or ATD certifications in talent development, are valued.

Documented record of excellence in teaching, as demonstrated through student evaluations, teaching awards, or peer reviews.

Experience in course and curriculum design, particularly in support of accreditation or

continuous improvement processes (preferably ACBSP).
