Job description

Position Summary

Acuren is seeking an experienced Estimator to help support operations in Houston, TX.

The Experienced Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting the bidding process, gathering sub-contractor & material quotes. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including labor, materials and equipment.
  • Review drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Identify risks and opportunities within project scope
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during pre-construction and execution phases
  • Maintain and update cost databases and historical data
  • Participate in bid reviews and client meetings as required
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating within oil & gas or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of project management and construction/industrial processes
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Sage or similar)
  • Experience using Microsoft Project is considered an asset
  • Rope Access expereince is considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (preferred)
