Job description

Evening Shift FT Nurse (8 hour, 12 hour and 16 hour shifts and Every weekend Program.

Participates in assessing, planning, and directing, as well as providing actual primary nursing care for an assigned number of residents. Directs basic care provided by nurse aides.

  • High school diploma or general degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate of accredited Licensed Practical School of Nursing required. Knowledge of the regulations related to the long-term setting, i.e., federal state, and JCAHO regulations and standards preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the geriatric resident and their needs essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to work as a team member with the nurses and nurse aides of Baptist Homes. Ability to communicate effectively to the residents, families, visitors, and staff. Accuracy in documentation is essential to support the reimbursement system.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) orLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in Pennsylvania; current CPR Certification
