  • This position is not eligible for remote work.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

Walmart-VIZIO’s Embedded Software organization develops cross-platform UI application experiences for millions of Smart TV customers. Our teams build high-performance, visually polished interfaces running on embedded Linux-based devices. As part of our unified engineering organization, you will collaborate closely with product, design, platform, and system engineering groups to deliver exceptional end‑to-end consumer experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL DO/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Define Quality Standards and Requirements: Collaborate with business stakeholders and partner management teams to establish clear quality standards and certification requirements for third-party integrations. Build solutions that meet performance, memory, and device-level constraints across various SoCs.
  • Develop Comprehensive Test Plans: Create detailed test plans, scenarios, and procedures specifically tailored to validate partner applications against defined criteria, including functional, non-functional, security, and regression testing. Contribute to design discussions and support development of distributed UI architecture components. Implement features within the UI engine and application stack with a focus on performance, smooth rendering, and system stability. Develop and enhance UI applications running on an embedded Linux environment.
  • Execute Certification Tests: Conduct manual and automated testing of partner applications in a dedicated testing environment to identify defects and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Manage Defect Reporting and Tracking: Document and report defects, working closely with partner development teams to ensure clear communication of issues and tracking their resolution through the fix and re-test cycles using tools like Jira.
  • Collaborate with Partners and Internal Teams: Act as the primary QA point of contact for external partners, providing technical guidance, support, and clear feedback to help them meet certification requirements. Coordinate with internal development and product teams to align on integration points and release schedules.
  • Verify Compliance and Certify Applications: Conduct final reviews and testing to ensure all issues are resolved and the application meets the necessary quality and compliance standards, ultimately certifying the product for launch or integration.
  • Automate Testing Processes: Identify and implement opportunities for test automation to improve the efficiency and repeatability of the certification process, using tools and frameworks such as Selenium or Appium.
  • Create and Maintain Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including test cases, test results, defect reports, and certification status reports for internal stakeholders and partners.
  • Monitor Post-Certification Quality: Participate in monitoring live partner application performance and user feedback post-launch to identify and address any production issues or regression defects.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Experience with UI frameworks, rendering pipelines, or embedded UI systems
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality code with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑moving engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance or testing, preferably within a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices (manual and automated).
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, risk assessment skills, and ability to understand complex system interactions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Code Management Tools, Cert App Tools, Cert Automation Tools, HCA, HAT, BCT, ATS.

  • PREFERRED:
  • Experience developing UI applications for consumer electronics or embedded products.
  • Familiarity with cross‑platform UI technologies.

  • Experience working with resourceconstrained or memorylimited systems.
