This position allows for remote work, providing the flexibility to connect with clients and colleagues from the comfort of your own home. While primarily remote, our outpatient office setting encourages collaboration among mental health professionals and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for our clients. Our standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a consistent and structured work schedule.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific psychological, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to address emotional challenges commonly associated with aging, such as grief, loss, and adjustment to life changes.
• Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to create personalized care plans that reflect the diverse needs of geriatric clients.
• Provide education and training to staff and family members on effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Offer specialized grief and loss counseling services to clients and their families confronting end-of-life issues, fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions aimed at promoting mental sharpness and overall wellness among elderly individuals.

Our primary focus is on geriatric clients within our outpatient setting. You will engage with seniors who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders related to aging. Your expertise will enable you to provide targeted interventions that resonate with the needs of older adults, ensuring they receive the compassionate care they deserve.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Completion of additional training or certifications focusing on geriatric mental health and issues related to aging.
• A proven track record of delivering effective counseling services to older adults facing a variety of mental health challenges.
• Comprehensive understanding of evidence-based interventions for promoting mental well-being among the elderly population.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with elderly clients and their families.
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity to support diverse backgrounds within the senior community.

While the minimum requirement is four years of relevant experience, candidates with higher qualifications, advanced certifications, and specialization in geriatric mental health will be given preference. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and in community health settings can also be advantageous.
