• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elder clients using a variety of assessment tools and techniques to identify their specific needs and goals.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, employing evidence-based interventions to help clients address emotional challenges related to aging, such as grief, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including social workers, nurses, and physicians, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored for geriatric residents.
• Educate families and support staff on effective strategies to promote emotional well-being and enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Provide grief and loss counseling to residents and their families coping with end-of-life issues, ensuring a safe space for open discussions and emotional support.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions, aiming to promote mental acuity and engagement among elderly clients.
