About the Organization

At Midwest Counseling Center, we pride ourselves on delivering culturally sensitive mental health care tailored to various populations, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrant communities. Our outpatient facility emphasizes a supportive and inclusive environment, fostering teamwork among professionals from different backgrounds to enhance patient care and promote overall mental health.

Our practice operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, requiring some adjustments based on our patients' needs. We utilize advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain streamlined communication and documentation, facilitating efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments in a culturally sensitive manner, gathering insights that inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to meet each patient's unique needs and backgrounds.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address outpatients' mental health concerns, building resilience and promoting overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, utilizing your strong crisis management skills to stabilize patients.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and necessary community resources, empowering them in their therapeutic journey.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and cultural competency training sessions to continually enhance your skills and understandings.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in mental health therapy, integrating this knowledge into your work.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Midwest Counseling Center is committed to serving a diverse clientele, providing mental health services for individuals of all backgrounds, with a specific focus on ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrant populations. By joining our practice, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those who often face unique challenges, ensuring mental health care is accessible and culturally relevant.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Deep understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment strategies, and cultural competence.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group therapy using inclusive and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Strong communication skills, with the capacity to establish rapport with diverse individuals and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications is crucial.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Experience

While the essential qualifications are outlined, additional experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and a background working with underserved populations will enhance your contribution to our team and your effectiveness with patients.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary for the position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, retirement savings with employer-matching contributions, generous paid time off and holiday pay, professional liability insurance, and support for continuing education and professional development.
