Department Summary
The Department of Political Science at UNT is nationally recognized for its high quality of teaching. Our undergraduate program boasts hundreds of majors who are taught by an exceptionally engaging, award-winning faculty. These faculty specialize in various areas, such as judicial politics and political parties and elections.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSls and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of Political Science seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach PSCI 2306 during the Fall 2026 semester. This introductory undergraduate course provides students with a foundation in the institutions of government, with particular emphasis on the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. The course will be taught in person at the UNT Denton campus
The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering course instruction, evaluating student work, maintaining required academic records, communicating with students, holding appropriate office hours, and complying with departmental and university policies and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in political science with outstanding teaching experience in teaching foundational-level Political Science courses, OR a master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science; with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level Political Science courses.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Political Science or Ph.D./MA. in Political Science, or equivalent, including 18 graduate hours in Political Science.
• Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
• Excellent communications skills.
