Backend Engineer Job Description
Position Summary:
The Backend Engineer is responsible for producing quality and on-schedule solutions for the Engineering and Product Delivery Departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The below list represents the major tasks assigned to incumbents in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all tasks.
  • Assist in planning, tracking, and completing sprints
  • Technical ownership and authority of assigned engineering projects
  • Support best practices for backend development
  • Very comfortable in HTML/CSS, JavaScript & JQuery, Git, SASS or LESS, PHP, SQL, MySQL
  • Experience with XML and importing/exporting XML files
  • Exposure to API integrations
  • Understanding of Object Oriented Principles
  • Ensure delivered technical solutions are consistent with company development policies and standards
  • Perform quality review of work products
  • Peer programming when required
  • Support the project team through key project events and ceremonies
  • Provide highly efficient development effort
  • Stay abreast of technical and functional dependencies across multiple initiatives
  • Provide assistance for onboarding and training of new employees

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
