Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team at Phoenix Psychotherapy Counseling Center. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to engage deeply with families and individuals facing significant challenges, particularly those related to developmental and intellectual disabilities. As part of our outpatient therapy model, you will provide comprehensive support that promotes mental health and enhances family dynamics.

About the Organization

Phoenix Psychotherapy Counseling Center is committed to delivering high-quality mental health services, specializing in children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Based in Aurora, Illinois, we focus on promoting comprehensive youth and family support services, ensuring caregivers receive the tools and knowledge needed to foster their children's well-being. Our bilingual staff, speaking both Spanish and Portuguese, allows us to better serve culturally diverse communities within our state.

Work Environment

As a remote therapist, you will have the flexibility to conduct therapy from the comfort of your own home while being connected to our supportive outpatient office network. This innovative work model blends traditional therapeutic techniques with modern technology to facilitate effective therapy sessions, individualized treatment planning, and collaborative care with healthcare professionals. Our remote setting also emphasizes a work-life balance that encourages personal growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Create and implement behavior intervention strategies focusing on anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills enhancement to mitigate high-risk behaviors.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with the Child Family Treatment Team, educators, and other professionals to ensure a unified approach to care.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation, including intake evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other necessary reports.
  • Participate actively in case reviews and team meetings to make impactful contributions towards improving client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with children and adolescents, aged 3-20, who are experiencing developmental challenges and behavioral issues. You will also provide support to their families, equipping caregivers with effective strategies to manage and improve their children's mental health. This role emphasizes a family-centric approach to therapy, addressing the unique needs of each child while considering the broader family dynamic.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Possession of a valid and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
  • A flexible schedule is preferred, particularly availability for 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential in-home visits may be required.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support strategies is highly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with children and adolescents, particularly those facing behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic methods tailored for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with family therapy modalities and collaborative treatment planning.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:

  • Comprehensive health insurance, including short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan to help you save for your future.
  • Annual paid vacation and personal days to ensure work-life balance.
  • Training and development opportunities to encourage continuous professional growth.
  • A supportive and dynamic work environment where you can make a meaningful difference.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Phoenix Psychotherapy Counseling Center, we believe in nurturing our employees' career trajectories. You will have access to a range of continuing education programs, training workshops, and professional development initiatives. Our emphasis on mentorship and networking allows for upward mobility within the organization, preparing you for advanced roles within mental health services.

Why Join Our Team
