Job Title: HIM Senior Specialist

Job Summary
The HIM Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the maintenance of paper and electronic health records while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and security guidelines. This role requires strong experience navigating electronic medical record systems and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform document imaging functions including prepping, scanning, quality review, validation, and indexing
  • Analyze medical records for completion and assign provider deficiencies as required
  • Support missing documentation requests and provider queries
  • Complete birth and death certificates in accordance with state requirements when applicable
  • Perform chart pickup, reconciliation, and data integrity functions
  • Meet defined productivity and quality benchmarks
  • Maintain accurate productivity tracking and reporting
  • Support internal and external record requests while maintaining confidentiality
  • Assist with record retrieval, filing, and continuity of care requests
  • Perform additional HIM duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of privacy and security requirements related to patient information
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and document management platforms
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently

Education and Experience
