Language Services Translations Project Manager
The Language Services Translations Project Manager will communicate with clients to provide quotes and identify specific project requirements. Then, the PM will select appropriate linguists (translators, editors, transcribers, etc.) and track the project from inception through completion.
For translation projects, the PM will manage the translation process with appropriate linguists using proprietary GLS software and conduct a full review, including advanced formatting and deliverables where required.
Program Manager Duties:
a. Provide quotes and respond promptly and effectively to client requests.
b. Manage incoming translation/interpretation projects.
c. Assign translation and editing assignments to linguists and carefully track/monitor the progress of each deliverable through the workflow.
d. Leverage formatting and skills to craft effective and professional deliverables.
e. Meet all turnaround times for translation/interpretation assignments.
f. Coordinate with senior project managers on any difficult assignments and alert them to any potential problems in meeting timelines for deliverables.
g. Maintain active and professional communication with clients and ongoing and upcoming projects and events.
h. Appropriately handle confidential documentation to ensure compliance with Privacy laws as it relates to handling of PII, HIPAA, and all other regulations, policies, and procedures related to security.
i. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Minimum of three years working as a project manager for a language services provider.
2. Must be a US citizen and able to complete a comprehensive background check, including fingerprints.
3. Native level English skills and high-level proficiency in another modern language, preferably German, French, or Spanish.
4. Excellent computer and technical skills with the ability to format well in Microsoft Word.
5. Ability to work well with a team.
6. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
8. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
9. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, especially in the state of Virginia, and where GLS employees reside.
10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
11. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's human resources. information system (Zoho One) and other relevant management systems.
12. Protect the company and its employees by providing sound advisement and ensuring compliance with federal/state and other employment laws and regulations, including any labor laws in OCONUS locations where the companys employees work.

Additional Requirements:

*** NOTE: This position will require a Tier 1 background investigation to be completed after hire.
