Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to join our team at the Private Counseling Group. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide remote mental health counseling primarily focusing on young adults. As a key member of our counseling team, you will have the chance to facilitate transformative therapy sessions that guide individuals toward improved mental health and well-being.

About the Organization

The Private Counseling Group is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers individuals facing mental health challenges. Located in Silver Spring, Maryland, we operate primarily in a community health clinic setting, emphasizing accessibility and holistic treatment approaches. Our mission is not only to provide exceptional mental health services but also to foster a nurturing community that unlocks the potential of every client. We pride ourselves on being a vibrant network of professionals dedicated to inspiring hope and facilitating change.

Work Environment

This role is designed for a remote work setting, allowing flexibility while still connecting with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals. Our organizational culture is centered on collaboration, empathy, and continuous learning, ensuring that every team member feels valued and supported. As a part of our group, you will engage with colleagues who share your dedication to fostering a healthy and positive environment for clients and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Group Therapy: Facilitate engaging and interactive group sessions that enable clients to share their experiences, build relationships, and learn from one another.
  • Individual Therapy: Provide personalized, empathetic counseling to clients, helping them explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing effective coping strategies.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to create individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate client progress through assessment tools and feedback mechanisms to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care and consulting on complex cases to provide comprehensive support for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on young adults who are navigating various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. This demographic often seeks guidance during pivotal moments in their lives; thus, your role will be crucial in helping clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and achieve their mental health goals.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s Degree in a relevant field such as counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
  • Active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) licensure in Maryland.
  • Experience working with clients who have mental health or mood disorders in residential or outpatient settings.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative attitude aligned with our mission to create pathways for positive change.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including proficiency in motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
Preferred Experience

While the primary qualifications are essential, candidates with experience in crisis intervention, group therapy facilitation, and diverse therapeutic modalities will be highly regarded. Understanding of evidence-based practices and the ability to document client progress accurately in electronic health records will be advantageous for this role.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 85,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family.
  • Short-term and long-term disability and life insurance to provide financial security.
  • A 401(k) program with up to a 5% match, designed to support your retirement savings.
  • Generous PTO policy, including four weeks of paid time off plus paid floating holidays to promote work-life balance.
  • Access to an excellent employee assistance program, offering counseling, legal consultations, financial planning, and wellness coaching.
  • Ongoing education and continuing education unit (CEU) support to aid in your professional development.
Career Growth Opportunities

At the Private Counseling Group, we value your professional development and provide pathways for growth. Engage in continuing education programs, mentorship opportunities, and free clinical supervision to advance your skills and expertise within the mental health field.
