Job description

Job Summary:
Precision Castparts is headquartered in Irvine, CA, and manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements. The ERP Developer and Analyst role is essential for maintaining and improving the Infor/IBM I/iSeries/AS400/Mapics ERP system, working closely with functional departments to enhance business processes and ensure compliance with IT and financial requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain IBMi AS400/Mapics ERP System /Powerlink
• Code new programs and enhance existing programs
• Analyzes user requests or problems to reach and implement solutions independently; maintains and enhances existing AS400 applications.
• Design and Develop Reports: Create comprehensive and detailed reports based on data analysis and user requirements.
• Ensures 100% compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Corporate/Division Policies.
• Defines user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing requirements. Take that understanding and draft detailed technical specifications ranging from simple, approved change forms to complex process map specifications for review and acceptance before development begins.
• Analyze requests quickly to determine interrelationships with other modules/systems to assess impact and quickly determine best approach. Provide realistic timelines based on current workload.
• Assist in trouble shooting ERP software application issues and provide technical support to users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis, training and problem solving.
• Develops, modified and maintains assigned programs. Develops databases, programs and procedures necessary to integrate and/or implement the system. Test system fully to determine it operational reliability.
• Ensures users are provided with professional and timely support and service.
• Maintaining a positive relationship with all business departments
• Work with other IT Managers within the division & company to leverage best practices and resources
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT with expert level knowledge in Infor XA development
• Must have 5 years’ IT experience working with a MAPICS ERP system; preferably with MAPICS 9.2 (or above) including Power Link
• Extensive experience in administration of an IBM I / iSeries /AS400 / Mapics /Powerlink
• Proficiency in IBM I-Series (AS/400) technologies – RPG, DB2/400 RPGLE, CLLE, DB2 , SQLRPGLE, MC2, FTP, Fromsprint, Free Format RPG
• Experience with SQL Server, Database connection and link Servers
• Extensive business experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong project management experience
• Highly motivated and driven individual
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Must be a team player with a strong customer orientation
• Ability to successfully manage many issues/projects simultaneously
• Must be able to propose and implement solutions independently
• Demonstrated ‘can do’ drive and attitude
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
