Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the order, cleanliness and safety of the pool and pool lawn areas. Attend and service the guests at the pool according to resort standards and provide a warm greeting and set up of beach/lawn chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, and towels. Inform guests of the Hotel's Ocean Awareness Program and services available at the beach and lawn. Assist the Attendants in responding to emergencies following hotel procedures. Responsible for expediting POS and cash handling at the beach club. Responsible for the Keiki Club program and cultural activities. Assist with beach duties as directed by the Director of Activities, Assistant Activities & Beach Manager, and/or Beach Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Inspect the pool area daily and rectify all safety hazards or faulty equipment; report equipment in need of repair and complete work orders.
  • Set-up pool chaise lounges and umbrellas daily.
  • Push towel bins to and from the loading dock, to and from the towel shack for guest usage, for both the beach and pool.
  • Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner when they arrive to the pool desk and offer assistance according to Hotel standards.
  • Issue towels, lawn games and any other amenities as per Hotel standards.
  • Advise and enforce Hotel Safety Rules as needed.
  • Maintain a proper supply of towels and supplies.
  • Pick-up towels and keep the pool and surrounding areas tidy and orderly throughout the day.
  • Observe guests at the pool, responding to concerns and emergencies according to Hotel procedures.
  • Clean pool chaise lounges, umbrellas, and tables daily using proper equipment at start of shift and end of shift.
  • Know all safety policies, procedures and standards.
  • Offer amenities and other services to guests.
  • Perform job duties following POS procedures as according to Hotel and corporate standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required by the Restaurant General Manager.

Secondary Job Functions:
  • Transport clean/dirty towels to and from loading dock and/or housekeeping.
  • Assist with monthly or quarterly inventories.
  • Order and pick up supplies from storeroom, main kitchen, or housekeeping when necessary.
  • May assist with special programs such as site inspections, photo shoots, children's programs, group events, etc as sponsored by the hotel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Working Conditions:
  • Works outdoors in the sun and other weather conditions.
  • Bright reflection off the water.
  • May need to enter the water for assists or cleaning purposes.

Work Hours:
  • Must be able to work shifts and days determined by the manager, daytime hours until sunset or later for special events.
  • Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week if needed due to business or available staffing.

Equipment Use:
  • Computer, POS systems.
  • Carts to transport towels.
  • Pool chairs, umbrellas, tables and cabanas.
  • Telephone and radio.

Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to work in the sun and outdoors for most of shift
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs - the equivalent of 5 umbrellas at once.
  • Must be able to push/pull laundry carts with towels weighing 50lb or more.
  • Must be able to stand and walk while on duty.

Communication Demands:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information as needed to guests.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with appropriate resort employees and rescue personnel in emergencies over the phone, radio, and in person.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • First Aid/CPR Certified/AED Certified.
  • Health Department TB Clearance if serving food and beverage items.
  • Must be pleasant, smiling and friendly to all guests.
